Puri Jagannath’s follow-up to the blockbuster Pokiri is a commercial film that is devoid of logic and only aims to entertain. This is a typical Puri film complete with an over-confident hero and a comedy track featuring Ali. Allu Arjun plays a reporter who falls in love with a sanyasin (reminiscent of Pooja Bhatt’s Paap) played by debutant Hansika Motwani (child actress from Koi Mil Gaya, Jaago). When he finally manages to draw her towards him, she is kidnapped. He realises that these goons are the same ones that are looking to settle scores with him for an earlier brawl. He sets out to bring the goons to justice and rescue his lady love.

Allu Arjun surprises the audience with his well-built body. His effort to improve with every film is commendable. He delivers a good performance in a complete mass role. He excels in the dances (the primary incentive to watch his films as far as I’m concerned) and his agility is an added asset for the fight sequences. Hansika Motwani looks quite good but her acting isn’t upto the mark in a role that doesn’t require much out of her. The supporting cast is fine with Ali delivering the laughs. Chakri teams with his mentor Puri after a gap and delivers some good mass numbers. The pick of the lot are Ninne Ninne and Satte E Godava Ledu.

The first half of the film breezes through with some entertaining moments while the second half is filled with action. As one can see from the storyline, the movie is quite predictable but Puri does his best to keep the audience interested with silly characters, gimmicks and dialogue. Coming from Puri after the violent but entertaining Pokiri, this isn’t good. Otherwise, this is a timepass film for those who like to watch hero-oriented films.
