I hadn’t heard about this film before and I don’t think that this movie had a wide release in the US. Nevertheless, an action comedy starring Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz seemed to promise a silly but fun ride. The is a sort of a cowgirl western (if there is such a thing) with a rich, spoilt brat (Hayek) and a farm hand (Cruz) joining forces to ruin the plans of certain bad Americans (apparently in the late 1800s) aspiring to steal from the Mexicans.

The film never really gets serious in terms of emotion (even the revenge angle is dealt with comically). It isn’t very thrilling either. The only thing going for it is the humor (which isn’t much different from my expectations of this film). The girls seem to be having fun with some support from Steve Zahn. Writers Luc Besson (Taxi, The Transporter, Unleashed) and Robert Mark Kamen (The Karate Kid, A Walk In The Clouds, The Transporter) team up with inexperienced directors Joachim Roenning and Espen Sandberg for the film. Even with the inputs of so many, the film is only mildly amusing. Not recommended unless you want to ogle at the ladies and the abundant cleavage on display.
