We hear a lot about feel-good cinema but I wouldn’t definitely agree about many movies which are classified as such. If in recent times there is a movie which truly made me feel good it has to be NVNV. You could accuse the filmmakers of lifting the plot from various Salman Khan hits like Maine Pyar Kiya, Pyaar Kiya to Darna Kya and a bit of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam…but after watching the movie you’ll be more than happy to forgive them for doing this.
There are a lot of things which worked for this movie, but if I were to pick one it surely has to be the hero’s characterization. In Telugu cinema, I’ve seen heroes who’ve done comic roles but this was the first time that I saw the hero portrayed as a hyper clownish character with panache - something which falls more into Bollywood territory and exemplified by the likes of Shahrukh and Salman. Siddharth truly shocked me with his performance…Prior to this he had pretty ordinary roles in Boys and Yuva so this was totally out of the blue. Trisha pretty much gets the same village girl role as in most of her movies and hence is likeable as always. The movie bears a fresh look throughout. The music by Devi Sri Prasad is another asset. If you haven’t seen this till now, then you surely are missing something.
